Introduction In the Winter of 2004, I was fortunate enough to score a nice old Delta / Crescent 12"-14" Table Saw. This table saw is considered by many to be the best saw that Delta ever made. When Delta introduced the Unisaw in the late 1930's, they immediately realized that they had a winner in the overall design of the saw. Many customers wished for a larger version of the saw so Delta took the basic design features and scaled it up to a larger 12" table saw. [...]

[...] were made in Milwaukee, WI. 1952: Manufacturing was moved to Tupelo, MS following the closing of the Delta plant in Milwaukee. Serial number tags found on saws after 1952 will indicate a Pittsburgh address though during a short period right after the move it appears that left over tags marked Milwaukee made it onto a number of machines.

This is an alternative to the solution presented below to the problem of the tension screw wearing against the inside of the casting, allowing the end of the tension screw to protrude past the plane of the platen and get in the way of sanding. Delta 6" x 48" belt sander : Note also that new/old top covers won't work properly with old/new side covers. The shape of the bump-out where they meet is a different shape. The newer ones have a straighter side to the bump-out.

It matches some of the pics of older saws, it was in their house when mom passed in 1978. Thinking I would use it, I moved it to my house, where it's been in the garage since. This is one solution for dust collection on a Delta 10" Unisaw. This funnel is my design and creation as a solution for my 1946 Delta Unisaw. It works very well for me, but there are other solutions out there. The funnel is made to fit the inside of the Unisaw cabinet closely. The vertical seams on the inside of the cabinet prevent the funnel from touching the walls of the cabinet. This small gap can be closed by either make the funnel a little larger and cutting slots in the edges to accommodate the vertical cabinet seams, or by filling [...]
